Éxodo 10

1
And HaShem said unto Moses: 'Go in unto Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might show these My signs in the midst of them;
And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Go in to Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that these signs may come upon them; in order

and that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, what I have wrought upon Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them; that ye may know that I am HaShem.'
that ye may relate in the ears of your children, and to your children’s children, in how many things I have mocked the Egyptians, and my wonders which I wrought among them; and ye shall know that I [am] the Lord.
3
And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him: 'Thus saith HaShem, the G-d of the Hebrews: How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before Me? let My people go, that they may serve Me.
And Moses and Aaron went in before Pharaoh, and they said to him, These things saith the Lord God of the Hebrews, How long dost thou refuse to reverence me? Send my people away, that they may serve me.
4
Else, if thou refuse to let My people go, behold, to-morrow will I bring locusts into thy border;
But if thou wilt not send my people away, behold, at this hour tomorrow I will bring an abundance of locusts upon all thy coasts.
5
and they shall cover the face of the earth, that one shall not be able to see the earth; and they shall eat the residue of that which is escaped, which remaineth unto you from the hail, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field;
And they shall cover the face of the earth, and thou shalt not be able to see the earth; and they shall devour all that is left of the abundance of the earth, which the hail has left you, and shall devour every tree that grows for you on the land.
6
and thy houses shall be filled, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians; as neither thy fathers nor thy fathers' fathers have seen, since the day that they were upon the earth unto this day.' And he turned, and went out from Pharaoh.
And thy houses shall be filled, and the houses of thy servants, and all the houses in all the land of the Egyptians; things which thy fathers have never seen, nor their forefathers, from the day that they were upon the earth until this day. And Moses turned away and departed from Pharaoh.
7
And Pharaoh's servants said unto him: 'How long shall this man be a snare unto us? let the men go, that they may serve HaShem their G-d, knowest thou not yet that Egypt is destroyed?'
Καὶ λέγουσιν οἱ θεράποντες Φαραὼ πρὸς αὐτὸν, ἕως τίνος ἔσται τοῦτο ἡμῖν σκῶλον; ἐξαπόστειλον τοὺς ἀνθρώπους, ὅπως λατρεύσωσι τῷ Θεῷ αὐτῶν· ἢ εἰδέναι βούλει ὅτι ἀπόλωλεν Αἴγυπτος;
And the servants of Pharaoh say to him, How long shall this be a snare to us? send away the men, that they may serve their God; wilt thou know that Egypt is destroyed?
8
And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh; and he said unto them: 'Go, serve HaShem your G-d; but who are they that shall go?'
Καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν τόν τε Μωυσῆν καὶ Ἀαρὼν πρὸς Φαραὼ, καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, πορεύεσθε καὶ λατρεύσατε Κυρίῳ τῷ Θεῷ ὑμῶν· τίνες δὲ καὶ τίνες εἰσιν οἱ πορευόμενοι;
And they brought back both Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh; and he said to them, Go and serve the Lord your God; but who are they that are going with you?
9
And Moses said: 'We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds we will go; for we must hold a feast unto HaShem.'
And Moses said, We will go with the young and the old, with our sons, and daughters, and sheep, and oxen, for it is a feast of the Lord.
10
And he said unto them: 'So be HaShem with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones; see ye that evil is before your face.
And he said to them, So let the Lord be with you: as I [will] send you away, [must I send away] your store also? see that evil is attached to you.
11
Not so; go now ye that are men, and serve HaShem; for that is what ye desire.' And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
Not so, but let the men go and serve God, for this ye yourselves seek; and they cast them out from the presence of Pharaoh.
12
And HaShem said unto Moses: 'Stretch out thy hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.'
And the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out thy hand over the land of Egypt, and let the locust come up on the land, and it shall devour every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees, which the hail left.
13
And Moses stretched forth his rod over the land of Egypt, and HaShem brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all the night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.
And Moses lifted up his rod toward heaven, and the Lord brought a south wind upon the earth, all that day and all that night: the morning dawned, and the south wind brought up the locusts,
14
And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the borders of Egypt; very grievous were they; before them there were no such locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.
and brought them up over all the land of Egypt. And they rested in very great abundance over all the borders of Egypt. Before them there were not such locusts, neither after them shall there be.
15
For they covered the face of the whole earth, so that the land was darkened; and they did eat every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left; and there remained not any green thing, either tree or herb of the field, through all the land of Egypt.
And they covered the face of the earth, and the land was wasted, and they devoured all the herbage of the land, and all the fruit of the trees, which was left by the hail: there was no green thing left on the trees, nor on all the herbage of the field, in all the land of Egypt.
16
Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said: 'I have sinned against HaShem your G-d, and against you.
And Pharaoh hastened to call Moses and Aaron, saying, I have sinned before the Lord your God, and against you;
17
Now therefore forgive, I pray thee, my sin only this once, and entreat HaShem your G-d, that He may take away from me this death only.'
pardon therefore my sin yet this time, and pray to the Lord your God, and let him take away from me this death.
18
And he went out from Pharaoh, and entreated HaShem.
And Moses went forth from Pharaoh, and prayed to God.
19
And HaShem turned an exceeding strong west wind, which took up the locusts, and drove them into the Red Sea; there remained not one locust in all the border of Egypt.
And the Lord brought in the opposite direction a strong wind from the sea, and took up the locusts and cast them into the Red Sea, and there was not one locust left in all the land of Egypt.
20
But HaShem hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the children of Israel go.
And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not send away the children of Israel.
21
And HaShem said unto Moses: 'Stretch out thy hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt.'
And the Lord said to Moses, Stretch out thy hand to heaven, and let there be darkness over the land of Egypt—darkness that may be felt.
22
And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;
And Moses stretched out his hand to heaven, and there was darkness very black, even a storm over all the land of Egypt three days.
23
they saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.
And for three days no man saw his brother, and no man rose up from his bed for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in all the places where they were.
24
And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said: 'Go ye, serve HaShem; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed; let your little ones also go with you.'
And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron, saying, Go, serve the Lord your God, only leave your sheep and your oxen, and let your store depart with you.
25
And Moses said: 'Thou must also give into our hand sacrifices and burnt-offerings, that we may sacrifice unto HaShem our G-d.
And Moses said, Nay, but thou shalt give to us whole burnt offerings and sacrifices, which we will sacrifice to the Lord our God.
26
Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not a hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve HaShem our G-d; and we know not with what we must serve HaShem, until we come thither.'
And our cattle shall go with us, and we will not leave a hoof behind, for of them we will take to serve the Lord our God: but we know not in what manner we shall serve the Lord our God, until we arrive there.
27
But HaShem hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.
But the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he would not let them go.
28
And Pharaoh said unto him: 'Get thee from me, take heed to thyself, see my face no more; for in the day thou seest my face thou shalt die.'
And Pharaoh says, Depart from me, beware of seeing my face again, for in what day thou shalt appear before me, thou shalt die.
29
And Moses said: 'Thou hast spoken well; I will see thy face again no more.'
And Moses says, Thou hast said, I will not appear in thy presence again.

JPS 1917 — The Holy Scriptures according to the Masoretic Text

1–36, siglo III a.
