Deuteronomio 5

1
And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them: Hear, O Israel, the statutes and the ordinances which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and observe to do them.
And Moses called all Israel, and said to them, Hear, Israel, the ordinances and judgments, all that I speak in your ears this day, and ye shall learn them, and observe to do them.
2
HaShem our G-d made a covenant with us in Horeb.
The Lord your God made a covenant with you in Horeb.
3
HaShem made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
The Lord did not make this covenant with your fathers, but with you: ye are all here alive this day.
4
HaShem spoke with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire--
The Lord spoke to you face to face in the mountain out of the midst of the fire.
5
I stood between HaShem and you at that time, to declare unto you the word of HaShem; for ye were afraid because of the fire, and went not up into the mount--saying:
And I stood between the Lord and you at that time to report to you the words of the Lord (because ye were afraid before the fire, and ye went not up to the mountain), saying,
6
I am HaShem thy G-d, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
7
Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
Thou shalt have no other gods before my face.
8
Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image, even any manner of likeness, of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
Thou shalt not make to thyself an image, nor likeness of anything, whatever things [are] in the heaven above, and whatever [are] in the earth beneath, and whatever [are] in the waters under the earth.
9
Thou shalt not bow down unto them, nor serve them; for I HaShem thy G-d am a jealous G-d, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the third and upon the fourth generation of them that hate Me,
Thou shalt not bow down to them, nor shalt thou serve them; for I am the Lord thy God, a jealous God, visiting the sins of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation to them that hate me,
10
and showing mercy unto the thousandth generation of them that love Me and keep My commandments.
and doing mercifully to thousands of them that love me, and that keep my commandments.
11
Thou shalt not take the name of HaShem thy G-d in vain; for HaShem will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain, for the Lord thy God will certainly not acquit him that takes his name in vain.
12
Observe the sabbath day, to keep it holy, as HaShem thy G-d commanded thee.
Keep the Sabbath day to sanctify it, as the Lord thy God commanded thee.
13
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work;
Six days thou shalt work, and thou shalt do all thy works;
14
but the seventh day is a sabbath unto HaShem thy G-d, in it thou shalt not do any manner of work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy man-servant, nor thy maid-servant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy man-servant and thy maid-servant may rest as well as thou.
but on the seventh day [is] the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt do in it no work, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, thy manservant, and thy maidservant, thine ox, and thine ass, and all thy cattle, and the stranger that sojourns in the midst of thee; that thy manservant may rest, and thy maid, and thine ox, as well as thou.
15
And thou shalt remember that thou was a servant in the land of Egypt, and HaShem thy G-d brought thee out thence by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm; therefore HaShem thy G-d commanded thee to keep the sabbath day.
And thou shalt remember that thou wast a slave in the land of Egypt, and the Lord thy God brought thee out thence with a mighty hand, and a high arm: therefore the Lord appointed thee to keep the Sabbath day and to sanctify it.
16
Honour thy father and thy mother, as HaShem thy G-d commanded thee; that thy days may be long, and that it may go well with thee, upon the land which HaShem thy G-d giveth thee.
Honor thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God commanded thee; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest live long upon the land, which the Lord thy God gives thee.
17
Thou shalt not murder.
Thou shalt not commit murder.
18
Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
19
Neither shalt thou steal.
Thou shalt not steal.
20
Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
21
Neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's wife; neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's house, his field, or his man-servant, or his maid-servant, his ox, or his ass, or any thing that is thy neighbour's.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife; thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house, nor his field, nor his manservant, nor his maid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any beast of his, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s.
22
These words HaShem spoke unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice, and it went on no more. And He wrote them upon two tables of stone, and gave them unto me.
These words the Lord spoke to all the assembly of you in the mountain out of the midst of the fire—[there was] darkness, blackness, storm, a loud voice—and he added no more, and he wrote them on two tables of stone, and he gave them to me.
23
And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the darkness, while the mountain did burn with fire, that ye came near unto me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;
And it came to pass when ye heard the voice out of the midst of the fire, for the mountain burned with fire, that ye came to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders:
24
and ye said: 'Behold, HaShem our G-d hath shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice out of the midst of the fire; we have seen this day that G-d doth speak with man, and he liveth.
and ye said, Behold, the Lord our God has shown us his glory, and we have heard his voice out of the midst of the fire: this day we have seen that God shall speak to man, and he shall live.
25
Now therefore why should we die? for this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of HaShem our G-d any more, then we shall die.
And now let us not die, for this great fire will consume us, if we shall hear the voice of the Lord our God anymore, and we shall die.
26
For who is there of all flesh, that hath heard the voice of the living G-d speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?
Τίς γὰρ σὰρξ ἥτις ἤκουσε φωνὴν Θεοῦ ζῶντος, λαλοῦντος ἐκ μέσου τοῦ πυρὸς, ὡς ἡμεῖς, καὶ ζήσεται;
For what flesh [is there] which has heard the voice of the living God, speaking out of the midst of the fire, as we [have heard], and shall live?
27
Go thou near, and hear all that HaShem our G-d may say; and thou shalt speak unto us all that HaShem our G-d may speak unto thee; and we will hear it and do it.'
Do thou draw near, and hear all that the Lord our God shall say, and thou shalt speak to us all things whatsoever the Lord our God shall speak to thee, and we will hear, and do.
28
And HaShem heard the voice of your words, when ye spoke unto me; and HaShem said unto me: 'I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee; they have well said all that they have spoken.
And the Lord heard the voice of your words as ye spoke to me; and the Lord said to me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, even all things that they have said to thee. [They have] well [said] all that they have spoken.
29
Oh that they had such a heart as this alway, to fear Me, and keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!
Τίς δώσει εἶναι οὕτω τὴν καρδίαν αὐτῶν ἐν αὐτοῖς, ὥστε φοβεῖσθαί με καὶ φυλάσσεσθαι τὰς ἐντολάς μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας, ἵνα εὖ ἠ· αὐτοῖς, καὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτῶν διʼ αἰῶνος;
O that there were such a heart in them, that they should fear me and keep my commands always, that it might be well with them and with their sons forever.
30
Go say to them: Return ye to your tents.
Go, say to them, Return ye to your houses;
31
But as for thee, stand thou here by Me, and I will speak unto thee all the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which thou shalt teach them, that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.'
but stand thou here with me, and I will tell thee all the commands, and the ordinances, and the judgments, which thou shalt teach them, and let them do so in the land which I give them for an inheritance.
32
Ye shall observe to do therefore as HaShem your G-d hath commanded you; ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
And ye shall take heed to do as the Lord thy God commanded thee; ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left,
33
Ye shall walk in all the way which HaShem your G-d hath commanded you, that ye may live, and that it may be well with you, and that ye may prolong your days in the land which ye shall possess.
according to all the way which the Lord thy God commanded thee to walk in it, that he may give thee rest; and that it may be well with thee, and ye may prolong your days on the land which ye shall inherit.

JPS 1917 — The Holy Scriptures according to the Masoretic Text

1–36, siglo III a.
