Privacy policy

Textorah is an independent website based in Utah, USA. This page says what the site collects, why, and how to have it deleted. Effective 2026-11-01.

Reading without an account

You can read everything without signing in. Your display settings (columns, theme, text size) and your place in the text are kept in your own browser's storage and are not sent to us.

If you create an account

If you support the site

Payments are handled by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe and never reach us. We keep a record of each contribution (amount, date, the email Stripe gives us, and Stripe's reference numbers) because tax law requires it. If you delete your account, these records are kept but no longer linked to an account. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Advertising

Readers who are not signed-in supporters see ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure them, which may be based on your visits to this and other sites. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first. You can manage personalised ads at Google's ad settings; see how Google uses information from sites that use its services. Supporters never load the ad script.

Rabbinic citations

When you open the citations panel, your browser asks Sefaria (sefaria.org) for the citations of that verse; Sefaria's own privacy policy applies to those requests.

Error reports

If you send a report through the Contact page, we keep the message, the page and verse, and the email address if you give one, to answer and fix the problem. Reports are forwarded to us by email.

Services the site relies on

We do not sell personal information.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not intended for them.

Your rights and contact

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask any question at [email protected]. We will post any change to this policy here with a new effective date.
